This past August, we announced that Berks Christian School (Birdsboro, PA) and West-Mont Christian Academy (Pottstown, PA) were combining resources and creating a Christian School district. This new district has been in operation since then, and has been bringing strength and growth to our two campuses through this unique fall season of 2020.
Today, we’re excited to announce our official name: Alliance Christian School District.
The new district name Alliance represents the past & future collaborations between the two campuses, while the mascot & logo honors the heritage of both schools: the black & gold of WCA’s Wings added to the maroon & gold Lions of BCS naturally fit together into the mythological Gryphon. This half eagle half lion creation was adopted by some Christians as an icon pointing to Jesus’ nature as fully human (represented by the land creature lion) and fully divine (represented by the airborne wings) and was often used in medieval heraldry to indicate a combination of intelligence and strength.
As previously announced, both BCS & WCA will continue to operate in their current locations as distinct school communities under a shared leadership team and each campus will retain its name for day to day operations. The Alliance name and branding will be used for district-wide offices and district initiatives.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing some of the exciting projects that have been going on at Alliance Christian School District and what our families can look forward to in the coming months and years.
